Scalise Congratulates Louisiana Small Business Development Center on Nomination for Excellence and Innovation Award

Washington, DC -- Congressman Steve Scalise today congratulated the Louisiana Small Business Development Center (LSBDC) in Hammond, on their nomination for the 2010 Small Business Development Center Service, Excellence and Innovation Award.

“From my visits to the Louisiana Small Business Development Center I understand how vital the center is to Southeastern Louisiana,” Scalise said.  “The Louisiana Small Business Development Center has a proven track record of supporting local businesses, and creating unique opportunities to strengthen and revitalize our local economy.  The Louisiana Small Business Development Center is dedicated to Southeast Louisiana and I congratulate them on their nomination for this award.”

The LSBDC is located on the campus of Southeastern Louisiana University and was founded in 1984.  Since 2002, they have helped create more than 400 jobs in the region and have trained more than 2,000 businesses and staff throughout the region.

The winner of the award will be announced during the Small Business Week 2010, held in Washington, D.C. from May 23 – May 25, 2010.
