Scalise: More than $1 Million for St. Tammany Parish Highway Projects
Washington, DC -- Congressman Steve Scalise today announced that the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Highway Administration has awarded $1,083,702 for highway projects in St. Tammany Parish.
“St. Tammany Parish has seen a significant increase in population over the last few years, and it is important for our infrastructure to keep up with this growth,” Scalise said. “These highway projects will help ensure the safety and quality of life that St. Tammany Parish residents deserve, while allowing local business to continue to grow as well.”
Scalise worked closely with the Louisiana Congressional Delegation, and local officials to ensure these projects in St. Tammany Parish received funding. Details of the projects are below.
• $222,300 will be used for the widening of U.S. 190 in Slidell between U.S. 11 and LA 433.
• $222,300 will be used for the construction of a new interchange at the interchange of LA 1088 and I-12.
• $164,102 will be used for the construction of a service road along the West side of I-10 in Slidell between LA 433 and US 190B.
• $475,000 will be used for the construction of a noise barrier along I-12 to reduce traffic noise in residences and neighborhoods along I-12.
