March 31, 2009

Washington, DC -- Congressman Steve Scalise recently received the “Spirit of Enterprise” award from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

The “Spirit of Enterprise” award is given to members of Congress based on rankings for key business votes by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. Members must score a 70 percent or higher to be eligible for the award. Congressman Scalise scored a 94 percent “pro business” rating based on his score for 16 votes during the 110th Congress.

“The Chamber is proud to present Representative Scalise with the Spirit of Enterprise Award on behalf of businesses large and small,” said Thomas J. Donohue, president and CEO of the U.S. Chamber. “Last year in particular, Congress had to make some tough choices, and Representative Scalise clearly demonstrated his commitment to the economy and keeping America competitive in an ever-changing global market.”

“I’m honored to receive this prestigious award from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and I will continue to fight for a strong business climate to create good jobs and grow our economy.”
