Whip Scalise Statement on the President's Veto of S.J. Res. 8

March 31, 2015

Washington, D.C. — House Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.) released the following statement regarding the president's veto of S.J. Res 8, legislation disapproving of the National Labor Relations Board’s “ambush elections” rule.

“Once again, President Obama has said ‘no’ to American jobs and the rights of hardworking taxpayers by bowing to the special interests of big labor,” Rep. Scalise said. “Today’s veto continues the Obama Administration’s assault on America's labor laws to tilt the balance unfairly in favor of labor unions. The House will continue fighting for the rights of all hard-working Americans who believe in the right to work freely, and oppose the continued efforts by this Administration to reach beyond the limits of the law.”
