Last week, House Democrats introduced the first part of their plan to dismantle American energy independence. Influenced by the Biden Administration's assault on American energy, Democrats' legislation places American jobs and energy security at risk, as well as the low energy costs that go with it.
Over the past four years, America has become energy dominant, resulting in a more secure country, lower energy prices for hard-working families, and thousands of good-paying American jobs. As our economy continues to recover from a global pandemic, the last thing we should do is promote policies that ship American jobs to higher polluting countries like China and Russia.Instead of making a down payment on the radical Green New Deal, Congress must preserve America's all-of-the-above energy strategy that promotes responsible energy exploration and development.
Energy made in America creates jobs, lowers the cost of gas and electricity for all American families and small businesses, and advances American interests on the world stage. House Democrats should consider the devastating consequences that eliminating American energy will have on hard-working families and our national security, and work with Republicans to develop commonsense policies that responsibly utilize our abundance of natural resources.

HEAT co-chair Representative Jeff Duncan (R-S.C.) introduced legislation that would codify former President Donald J. Trump's restrictions on foreign adversaries accessing or owning parts of the United States power grid. The Biden Administration has proven their inability to stand firm against our adversaries, and Congress must ensure the security and reliability of our nation's power grid are always upheld.
Representative Tim Walberg (R-Mich.) led fourteen of his House colleagues in sending a letter to President Biden outlining the consequences that would result from halting operations of Enbridge's Line 5 pipeline.
Representative Pete Stauber (R-Minn.) sent a letter with the Minnesota Republican Delegation to President Biden urging him to use the Duluth Complex for domestic minerals following the recent executive order on supply chains.
Representative Carol Miller (R-W.Va.)sent a letter to German Chancellor Angela Merkel advocating for increased energy cooperation between the United States, Germany, and all European allies.
Representative Garret Graves (R-La.) offered four amendments to the Democrats' COVID-19 package, including an amendment that creates a set aside for workers in the energy sector displaced or laid off due to the COVID-19 pandemic or by Executive Orders related to U.S. energy policy.
Representative Jim Hagedorn (R-Minn.)delivered a speech on the House Floor blasting President Biden's unilateral assault on American energy.
Representative Clay Higgins (R-La.) sent a letter to Governor John Bel Edwards commending him for pushing back against the Biden administration's job-killing energy policies and calling on the Governor to implement additional state-level reforms to support oil and gas jobs.
