The HEAT Report

May 16, 2022

The HEAT Report is a weekly newsletter focusing on how members of the House Energy Action Team (HEAT) promote American energy security, and an all-of-the-above energy economy.

The Latest:

Over the past few weeks, the Biden Administration's anti-American energy agenda has continued to take its toll on American families.

Gas prices reached a record-high of $4.48 a gallon today, up 15 cents from last week, according to the American Automobile Association. President Biden has deflected responsibility for these skyrocketing energy prices as "Putin's Price Hike," but the American people know that President Biden's radical Green New Deal agenda has forced them to pay more for everything from food at the grocery store to home utility costs.

On Thursday, the Biden Administration announced the cancellation of three offshore oil and gas lease sales, effectively ending any chance that an offshore lease sale will be held any time soon. Meanwhile, the current 5-year leasing plan is set to expire next month, and the Biden Administration has not given any indication they plan on releasing a new one. Hardworking families only stand to suffer from President Biden's failed anti-American energy agenda, and this egregious decision pushes America further away from global energy dominance.

Our nation cannot be energy independent by continuing to beg foreign countries like Russia and Iran for our energy. With inflation at its highest level in over four decades, President Biden must immediately reverse his crusade against American energy and support American families who are having to choose between food and fuel just to get by each day.
