Relief Radar

Republicans Release Roadmap for COVID-19 Accountability: Last week, House Republicans released a roadmap to hold China accountable and deliver transparency and justice to the American people. As part of the roadmap's plan to increase transparency, Republicans call for the declassification of intelligence related to the origins of COVID-19; prohibit gain-of-function research in and with China; prohibit the National Institutes of Health from providing research funding with irresponsible foreign governments, like China; and overhaul the World Health Organization (WHO).

As part of the roadmap's plan to deliver justice, Republicans call for a COVID-19 investigation utilizing existing authorities; impose economic sanctions and visa and admissibility restrictions on those in China, associated with the CCP, WHO, or other international organizations who knowingly and willfully participated in the COVID-19 coverup; waive Chinese sovereign immunity to allow grieving families to file lawsuits against the Chinese government; and relocate the 24th Olympic Winter Games.

Crisis Corner

The Biden Inflation Agenda Crushing American Families: The Biden Inflation Agenda of too much money chasing too few goods is causing major harm to hard-working families. Earlier this year, Democrats passed a $1.9 trillion COVID bill that had almost nothing to do with COVID – but air-dropped more cash into the economy – while restricting supply. Larry Summers – top economic advisor to both President Clinton and President Obama – has been warning since February that Biden's agenda is inflationary. As a result of Bidenflation, the Consumer Price Index is up the most since 2008. Milk up 5 percent; bacon up 13 percent; used cars up 30 percent; and public transportation up 16 percent. This list goes on – housing prices are soaring, and economists are warning of the rental crisis.

President Biden has proposed a $3.5 trillion tax hike that will crush American workers, small businesses, and family farms. He wants a higher tax rate than Communist China. Add to that, he wants another $4 trillion of spending. The job of taming inflation belongs to Congress and the administration. We must take the $4 trillion of spending proposals off the table, end the bonus unemployment insurance, and stop this tax hike that will ship jobs overseas.

Biden Blunders

Biden's COVID Origins Investigation May Produce No Answers: The Biden Administration is already tempering expectations that its 90-day review into the origins of COVID-19 may not produce definitive answers. The Biden Administration has not pressured Communist China to provide access to the Wuhan lab nor has moved to hold China accountable. The Biden Administration's soft stance on China makes it imperative Congress investigate the origins of COVID-19 to seek answers on behalf of the American people.

This Week in SSOCC

Select Subcommittee Republicans to Hold Forum on COVID-19 Origins: On Tuesday, June 29 at 12:00 p.m. ET, House Republican Whip and Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Crisis Ranking Member Steve Scalise (R-La.), House Committee on Oversight and Reform Ranking Member James Comer (R-Ky.), and Select Subcommittee Republican lawmakers will hold a forum with expert witnesses to examine the origins of the coronavirus. For more than a year now, Republicans have repeatedly called on Democrats to investigate the mounting evidence showing the virus originated from the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV) lab, but Democrats continue refusing to launch an investigation.

At the forum, the lawmakers will hear from Brett P. Giroir, former Assistant Secretary for Health, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services; Dr. David Asher, Senior Fellow, Hudson Institute; Dr. Richard Muller, Emeritus Professor of Physics, University of California Berkeley; and Dr. Steven Quay, Founder, Atossa Therapeutics. Additionally, there will be a member panel with lawmakers who have worked extensively to investigate the origins of COVID-19, including Energy and Commerce Committee Ranking Member Cathy McMorris Rodgers, House Foreign Affairs Committee Ranking Member Michael McCaul, House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence Ranking Member Devin Nunes, and Rep. Mike Gallagher.

National Institutes of Health Director Dr. Francis Collins, National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Director Dr. Anthony Fauci, and P3C) Chairman Dr. David Hassell were also invited but they declined to participate.
