Scalise Applauds Great Red Snapper Count Preliminary Findings

WASHINGTON, D.C.—House Republican Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.) released the following statement on the preliminary findings of the Great Red Snapper Count:

"The preliminary results of the Great Red Snapper Count prove what Louisiana fishermen knew all along: red snapper stocks in the Gulf of Mexico are thriving. These results are great news for the thousands of anglers that take part in the red snapper season every year. I look forward to seeing these numbers validated, and I encourage NOAA to incorporate these findings into their management of Gulf red snapper."
