WASHINGTON, D.C.—Today, House Republican Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.) released the following statement on the passing of former Louisiana Governor Edwin Edwards:
"Jennifer and I are saddened to hear of the passing of former Governor Edwin Edwards, and we offer our sincerest condolences to his family. His larger-than-life personality made him one of the most colorful governors in our state's history. We ask that you join us in praying for his family during this time."
