Extending NFIP through November 30

July 16, 2018

WASHINGTON, D.C.—House Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.) and Rep. Tom MacArthur (R-N.J.) today filed H.R. 6379 to extend the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) through November 30, 2018, the official end of the Atlantic Hurricane Season.

"In Southeast Louisiana, we know the importance of flood insurance and what a disaster it would be for the program to expire, espeically in the middle of hurricane season. While it’s critical that Congress continue working to get a long term reauthorization of the program signed into law, today I joined with Rep. Tom MacArthur to introduce legislation that will make sure the program doesn’t expire and that we don’t have to worry about a lapse for the remainder of this hurricane season.”
