Morganza Project included in the final WRRDA Conference Report

Metairie, LA– Congressman Steve Scalise released the following statement today after the Water Resources Reform and Development Act Conference Report was released. The Morganza to the Gulf Hurricane Protection Project was among the many crucial projects and reforms to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers that is included in the final bill.

“Among other critical reforms, I’m pleased that the WRRDA Conference Report includes authorization for one of my highest priorities, the Morganza to the Gulf Hurricane Protection Project.” Scalise said. "The bill also begins to take more seriously our nation’s dredging needs through important reforms to the Harbor Maintenance Trust Fund, and ushers in much-needed reforms to the Corps of Engineers while also authorizing crucial water infrastructure projects for our nation. I urge quick consideration of this bill by the House of Representatives and look forward to supporting its passage on the House floor.”
