Scalise Applauds Passage of SCRUB Act

March 1, 2017

WASHINGTON, D.C.— House Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-LA) released the below statement following the United States House of Representatives' passage of H.R. 998, Searching for and Cutting Regulations that are Unnecessarily Burdensome (SCRUB) Act of 2017:

"With the passage of this bill, the days of federal agencies undermining Congress and the rule making process through imposing bureaucratic regulations will come to an end. Our families and job creators have been crushed by the real-life costs of unnecessary federal regulations imposed on them by unelected Washington bureaucrats. This legislation allows for a complete audit of our regulatory system so we can eliminate burdensome and harmful rules to ensure a more accountable, transparent, and efficient government that works for our taxpayers.

"I encourage the Senate to swiftly pass this legislation and send it to President Trump's desk so we can start delivering much-needed relief to Americans from these costly regulations."
