Scalise to host Google Hangout with Louisianans so they can share their Obamacare stories
January 14, 2014
Washington, D.C.–Congressman Steve Scalise will host a live streaming video conference with residents of Louisiana’s First Congressional District on Wednesday, January 15 at 9:00 AM CT. The Google Hangout can be watched here.
“President Obama’s unworkable health care law has directly harmed thousands of Louisiana families and businesses, causing many to lose the good health care plans that they like while also causing their health costs to skyrocket and access to care drop,” Scalise said. “I look forward to discussing some of the many stories I’ve heard from Louisiana families who have reached out to me with their Obamacare experiences.”
Two Louisianans who will participate in tomorrow’s Google hangout include:
- Aaron Hirsh, an IT contractor from Slidell, Louisiana. Aaron received a letter from his health insurance carrier in October 2013 explaining that his current policy would be cancelled in January because it did not comply with all the unworkable mandates required by the President Obama’s health care law. After losing the plan he liked and then buying a new health policy, Aaron’s premiums have increased by 82 percent.
- Allison Cousins, a small business owner from Madisonville, Louisiana. A third party insurance agent came to her house in November using “bullying tactics” to coerce her into signing up for Obamacare.
