Scalise to Host Small Business Roundtable Monday

September 24, 2010

Washington, DC -- Congressman Steve Scalise will host a small business roundtable discussion on Monday at Factory Service Agency, Inc. in Metairie. Scalise will be joined by small business owners to discuss the economy, including the Bush tax cut extensions and other issues before Congress impacting small businesses. Members of the media are welcome to attend.

“Small businesses are the cornerstone of our economy, and it is vital that we help them thrive by working to pass policies that encourage job growth and promote the entrepreneurial spirit that makes America the greatest nation in the history of the world,” Scalise said. “I look forward to meeting with local small business owners to discuss issues that affect their ability grow and create good jobs in Louisiana.

“As the economy continues to struggle, President Obama and Speaker Pelosi are pushing an agenda that includes job killing policies like the cap and trade energy tax, as well as a proposal to increase taxes on small businesses by $678 billion. I oppose that reckless agenda, and am working with our small business owners to promote an agenda that allows them to create jobs and get our economy back on track.”
