Scalise Hosts Video Conference with Students from Spring Creek Elementary in Tangipahoa Parish

February 26, 2010

Washington, DC -- This week, Congressman Steve Scalise hosted a video conference with the fourth and fifth grade classes at Spring Creek Elementary in Tangipahoa Parish from his office in Washington, D.C.

“These students are tomorrow’s leaders, and it was refreshing to visit with the Spring Creek Elementary classes from my office in Washington, D.C.,” Scalise said. “It is always inspiring to speak with our young students, and I look forward to continuing to visit with students while I’m in the district and also while I’m in our Nation’s Capitol.”

The video conference lasted 25 minutes and featured a question and answer session between the students and Congressman Scalise. They discussed topics ranging from the differences between the House of Representatives and the Senate, the length of a Congressional term, and the day-to-day life of a Member of Congress. Future classroom video conferences are being planned.
