Scalise on March Job Numbers: Obama Keeps Growing Government While Small Businesses Suffer

April 2, 2010

Washington, DC -- Congressman Steve Scalise today released the following statement on the announcement by the Bureau of Labor Statistics that 162,000 jobs were created during the month of March.

"America's economy continues to suffer under President Obama's liberal agenda of job-killing taxes and radical policies like the government takeover of health care and the 'cap and trade' energy tax," Scalise said. "While today's job numbers appear to show growth, most of the jobs created were temporary government jobs with the U.S. Census Bureau. When the 2010 census is over, these temporary workers will be laid off and we will still be facing a jobless recovery. This economic roller coaster must end, and I will continue fighting to create tax incentives that have been proven to create jobs while opposing the reckless liberal agenda that is holding our economy back."
