Scalise: SBA Opens Business Recovery Centers for Small Businesses in Aftermath of BP Oil Spill

Washington, DC -- Congressman Steve Scalise today announced that the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) has opened Business Recovery Centers in Jefferson, Lafourche, Orleans, Plaquemines, St. Bernard and St. Tammany Parishes.

Small business owners can visit the Business Recovery Centers to discuss Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EIDL) which have been made available to small businesses in Louisiana affected by the BP oil spill. This includes those businesses that operate on revenue from fishing, recreational and sports fishing and coastal business. SBA is also providing loan deferments to fishermen and others affected who are still paying back loans taken out after Hurricane Katrina.

The EIDL loans are available for businesses in the following Parishes: Acadia, Allen, Ascension, Assumption, Avoyelles, East Baton Rouge, East Feliciana, Evangeline, Iberia, Iberville, Jefferson, Jefferson Davis, Lafayette, Lafourche, Livingston, Orleans, Plaquemines, Pointe Coupee, Rapides, St. Bernard, St. Charles, St. Helena, St. James, St. John the Baptist, St. Landry, St. Mary, St. Martin, St. Tammany, Tangipahoa, Terrebonne, Vermillion, Washington, West Baton Rouge, and West Feliciana.
