Scalise Statement on the Anniversary of Roe v. Wade
Washington, D.C. – Congressman Steve Scalise today released the following statement on the 41st anniversary of Roe v. Wade.
“The right to life is our most fundamental and precious gift from God, but for 41 years the sanctity of life has been marginalized,” Scalise said. “More than 50 million lives have been lost to abortion in the aftermath of Roe v. Wade, leaving a tremendous scar on our society and our nation. Life begins at conception, and I’m proud to stand with all of those who are participating in today's March for Life in Washington as we stand up in defense of the right to life. We should all work to promote a culture that respects life at every stage, and I will continue fighting for the American values that make our country great and working with my colleagues to defend the sanctity of human life from the assault of Roe v. Wade.”
