Scalise Statement on EPA’s Final RFS Rule
WASHINGTON, D.C. - Congressman Steve Scalise (R-La.) responded with the following statement to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) issuing its final rule setting out the long-delayed Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) requirements for the years 2014 through 2016.
“We’ve known since day one that this costly EPA mandate hurts consumers and subjects hardworking Louisianans to unworkable federal rules and regulations,” Scalise said. “With their announcement today, the Obama Administration seems to be acknowledging the crippling effects of their own radical agenda. I will continue pushing for a full repeal of the EPA’s misguided renewable fuels standard, because unelected Washington bureaucrats have no business picking winners and losers in America’s energy industry that’s so critical to our economy here in Louisiana.”
