Scalise statement on his vote against the budget plan
December 13, 2013
Washington, D.C. - Republican Study Committee Chairman Steve Scalise today issued the following statement after voting against the budget plan.
“In order to rein in Washington’s out of control spending problem, we have to make stronger structural reforms to the mandatory spending programs that drive our debt,” Scalise said. “There are many reforms we need to make in order to balance our budget and create a healthy economy, but until President Obama is willing to come to the table and work with us to solve the bigger problems, we won’t be able to achieve those important reforms for American families.”
