Scalise Statement on the House Repeal of Obamacare

February 3, 2015

WASHINGTON, D.C. – House Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.) today issued the below statement following House passage of H.R. 596, legislation to repeal the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. H.R. 596 also directs the committees of jurisdiction to craft replacement legislation.

Today’s vote to repeal Obamacare is the first step to achieving real reforms that lower costs and put patients back in charge of their health care decisions,” Rep. Scalise said. “President Obama’s health care law has failed the American people, resulting in increases in health costs and the loss of good health care for millions of families who had and liked their plans. Hard-working taxpayers deserve and demand real solutions to the serious problems caused by President Obama’s health care law.”
