Scalise statement on military tragedy in Afghanistan

Washington, DC -- Congressman Steve Scalise today released the following statement after Saturday's military tragedy in Afghanistan.

"My thoughts and prayers go out to the families, friends, and loved ones of those killed in yesterday's horrific tragedy while fighting to preserve the freedoms that we hold dear," Scalise said. "These brave heroes selflessly dedicated themselves to combating terrorism on foreign soil to defend America's freedom, and in doing so paid the ultimate price. We are forever indebted to them for their bravery and sacrifice. May God bless our troops and continue to bless the United States of America."
