Slidell Obamacare victim to join Scalise at State of the Union

January 27, 2014

Washington, D.C. – Aaron Hirsh, an IT Contractor from Slidell, will join Congressman Steve Scalise as Scalise’s guest at the State of the Union.

Hirsh shared his Obamacare story with Scalise after receiving a letter from his health insurance provider explaining that his health care policy was being canceled because of President Obama's health care law. Aaron provides for his wife and their two young children. One of his sons has a history of ear infections.

"I’m honored that Aaron accepted my invitation to join me as my guest at the State of the Union,” Scalise said. “There are thousands of people just like Aaron throughout southeast Louisiana – hard-working taxpayers feeling the effects of the President’s broken promises, burdened by Obamacare and by the stagnant Obama economy. President Obama should abandon his divisive rhetoric and instead use his State of the Union to admit that his signature health care law has failed and finally start working with House Republicans to solve these problems he's created so we can create a healthy economy.”
