WASHINGTON, D.C.—Today, House Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-La.) joined Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.), House Majority Whip Tom Emmer (R-Minn.), Conference Chair Elise Stefanik (R-N.Y.), and Congressman Chip Roy (R-Texas) to discuss legislation on the House floor that protects the integrity of federal elections and the votes of American citizens. Leader Scalise emphasized the importance of the SAVE Act to prevent illegal immigrants from accessing ballots, and questioned why Democrats would be opposed to this bill if they claim to be against illegal immigrant voting.
