Washington, DC -- Congressman Steve Scalise today announced that his district staff will be hosting mobile office hours in Washington Parish on Wednesday, March 25.

“I encourage Washington Parish residents to come meet with our staff at the Council Chambers in Franklinton during our community office hours,” Scalise said. “My staff will be on hand, and happy to help residents with any question they may have concerning federal programs or federal agencies.”

Washington, DC -- Congressman Steve Scalise today participated in a secure energy briefing with the United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon. Members of the Energy and Environment Subcommittee of the Energy and Commerce Committee were invited to the closed briefing.

Secretary General Ban Ki-moon discussed global climate change and the international negotiations leading up to the U.N. climate change conference in Copenhagen, Denmark, in December 2009. They also discussed energy policy and the development of renewable energy.

Washington, DC -- Congressman Steve Scalise recently sent a letter to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Secretary Eric Shinseki asking for answers about the Washington Parish Veterans Clinic.

“I am concerned the clinic may not open in a timely manner,” Scalise said. “Our military veterans have served our country with honor and it’s very important that they have access to quality care. I want to hear from the VA on the status of this project and make sure the clinic opening stays on schedule.”
